It’s always about the city for me, specifically what makes one different from another in spite of all the reasons they should be alike. The City.Cité series contrasts the urban scene in America with that of Europe. It’s an “old world/new world” exploration. I manipulate photos gathered during years of travel, prepare a study and then image transfer an enlarged copy of the study onto raw canvas.
Les rues de France is “old world”, an urban landscape in black and white, where life plays out at street level, rich in detail and at a human scale.
